On-Site Searches; No Internet Databases

At Lighthouse Information Services, LLC (LIS), we talk a lot about 'On-Site' research. The reason for this is pretty simple – most of the companies conducting work in Georgia are not going to the courthouse. They use databases, GCIC reports and website brokers to pull data, which is often inaccurate and/or incomplete. In the event of a records dispute, these companies will then send someone to the courthouse to obtain the actual information and do what they claimed they were doing before – doing on-site courthouse research. It's different with us, because we do what we say from the beginning.

Depending on the jurisdiction, we will search the courts open to public research and perform the methods required for that court – docket books, microfiche, public access terminal, etc. Our experienced research providers know the most efficient and accurate means of conducting their research to ensure the quality of the results. A report covering county criminal records often includes information regarding the degree of the offense, offense dates, case numbers, filing dates, defendants, counts, trial dates, verdicts, disposition, disposition dates, and sentencing information.

A statewide criminal search provides you an overview of a candidate’s criminal history in a specific state and may help you find cases you missed by focusing strictly on a county level search. However, the accuracy of these searches depends greatly on the state and their retrieval methods. Our recommendation is to only use statewide searches as a supplemental searches with our county level searches. Additionally, these searches depend on the limited availability of archived records, state laws and Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) regulations.

Our county civil litigation search includes cases involving contracts, personal injury, discrimination, eviction, divorce, child support, custody, nonpayment or non return of goods or debt, property damage, and other similar cases. All records include date of filing, suit description, disposition date, entire disposition and identifiers used to locate the case.

Due to our research providers being on-site in each courthouse, we offer a wide-range of documents that we can retrieve including but not limited to real estate filings, UCC's, Local and State Liens.
